When DC Sports was founded by Darrell and Darrick Contreras, they had one mission: to create high-quality performance products for the emerging Sport Compact Market.
Back in 1987, American Honda approached them with a challenge – develop a header for their SCCA-prepped CRXs. What came out of that project was the game-changing 4-into-1 header design. This wasn't just any product; it was so impressive that Honda wanted more for other applications. That system, known as HHC5002, marked the beginning of a legacy.
The Sport Compact Market primarily consisted of Japanese small cars, already known for their reliability and performance. These vehicles became the perfect canvas for tuning modifications.
Throughout the '90s, DC Sports became synonymous with Honda and Acura performance. By the early 2000s, they began expanding into other sport compact platforms. Their unique designs didn’t just perform; they outperformed the competition, making DC Sports the go-to brand for serious enthusiasts.
Today, DC Sports offers products for most popular sport compact vehicles. Their headers and intakes come in both CARB-approved (50-state legal) and race-only (off-road use) versions. Headers are crafted from polished T304SS stainless steel and/or T409SS ceramic-coated for ultimate protection and finish. Intake kits feature high-flow open-element filters and all the necessary hardware for a hassle-free installation. Braces, made from mild steel for strength, are powder-coated for durability, and whenever possible, they use solid one-piece designs to maximize chassis rigidity.
